Studio Development - Phase one

Its been a busy Saturday, well, for Ian and Mark at least. I'm a tad excited as January should see the arrival of the builder....all eager to start work on my new studio. I thought I would share the studio development with you...as it progresses ( I do hope the builder isn't camera shy!)

It seems asbestos removal is an expensive business. So with that in mind, we decided that the roof might be something we could tackle ourselves and save a few pennies. Today seemed a good day to venture out and to tackle it's removal. As my garage seems to be spider heaven, this was defiantly not a job for me. Well volunteered Ian ( my better half) and Mark, my daughters very helpful fella.

What is soon to become my shiny new photographic studio

First job was to remove the door, not to challenging as it was half hanging off anyway.  Out with the angle grinder...a little warm for the assistant!  I should probably point out that Ian is holding the door just behind the sparks.

The Martians Have Landed

Safety first...and nothing to do with it making me giggle of course, Ian and Marked kitted themselves out with monkey suits and masks.....seems to remove asbestos you need these things.
Meet the workers!
Ninja Ian
Monkey Mark.

Time to get down to the more serious business of studio demolition.
Mark started the demolition process.....one foot through the roof!
The first piece is lifted

Time for me to leave I think!

Coffee Break....still smiling!

 Nearly Done

Phase One Complete....spiders re homed ( probably next doors garage ooops)
Now just waiting for a confirmed date for phase two.

Thank you boys for all your hard work....hope the spiders didn't put up to harder fight!
